Reusable Folding Bag

I have been scratching my brain to come up with a little gift to send my girl friends from back home that would be easy to ship. I found these folding reusable bags and instantly thought VINYL! The  bags are pretty good size and are nylon so the took the HTV wonderfully. What great is they can ship in an envelope rather than a box and I can personalize them to fit the friend! I found these at Tuesday Morning.

I found a great assortment of colors.

Here's what they look like opened up.

I like to keep things like this in the car for the unexpected like messy shoes, a trip to the beach, or too many things to carry. The can be tossed in the washer. The best part is being able to personalize them!


First up is one I did for a friend who knits and crochets like a wizard. I ironed the bags out before adding the HTV, but when I refolded them they created new crease lines.

The message says: Beware! Woman packing needles!

This one uses a Celtic know pattern:

This is one I just love for my special tea friends!

It says: The best friendships are made over tea. This is a saying I came up with on my own because it seems those kinds of friends you just seem to take that kind of time with.

I hope this spurs some ideas to  help fill out your gift giving to someone you want to do something thoughtful for.

Glass Block Gift 2

We'll we're starting to meet some new people since the move. And two super people are Joe and Ally. Ally is a Brit and I could listen to her talk all day- super sweet lady too. Joe and been educating Alyssa and I on some slang phrases. Here's a block I did for them. I used Mod Podge, alcohol ink, Perfect Pearls, and alcohol on the inside to make is kind of a creamy obscure so the light is soft. I added a ribbon and bow around the sides and did their name in vinyl. I hope they like it.

Glass Block Gift

I did a couple of gift blocks for Christmas gifts.

First is for my childhood friend Beth, now Dixie, who is a vet about an hour away from me. We're meeting up on Thursday and I can't wait to see her. She is an AMAZING person!

 I used the Square1 Masterpiece re-positionable fabric sheets. The are super easy to use and did perfectly for my project. It diffuses the light but lets it illuminate the picture. It is far more awesome than the picture shows. I have to wait until I see her on Thursday to post this on the Square1 facebook page. We're friends on there, so she'll see it.

 Here it is all lit up.=)

Sandy Claws is Coming to Town

We are having a glass block challenge on the MTC forum. I had an idea on putting a little coastal humor into my project. I found an image of a crab from the Inkadoo line on JoAnn's website. It was actually a decent picture. I have seen this on Kim Bright's website if you want to use the file and not have to clean up the image. She has such a great collection.

I opted not to go with a bow on the block. It seemed out of place to me. I added some shells from our beach shell collection. SW Florida is an awesome place to shell. I added some vinyl and a single light from the dollar store.

Cough, Sniffle, Cough

Just a quick update. I haven't fallen off the face of the earth. I've just been sick which has put me really behind. I am on the mend now, I hope. I am getting my voice back, so that's good. I have a few gift projects I started and should be able to finish and post soon.

Ornament snow globes

I wanted to share some quick ornament designs I did some of these last year. They were so fun!

This is a flat round ornament. I used a pre-printed, foamie shape on the inside. I stuck it to a clear acetate strip, and I rolled it up to slide it into the hole. I added some styro foam beads for the snow and cut the snowflakes and name out of vinyl.

This other one is a round bulb ornament that I used little nutcracker stickers on a thin strip of acetate and fed it down through the hole on the top.

I love the little snow globe look.
